Today we are going to have an interview from the archives with Melyssa Barrett who has been a great friend of mine for many decades now.

Here’s why she focuses not only on success itself but the purpose of her success:

One of the biggest successes for me is connecting to my purpose. Being able to understand, find your voice, find your passion, and then connect it to your purpose. For me, that is prosperity. When you start talking about who you are, what you want to do, where you want to be, the legacy you want to leave, because at the end of the day, that’s what life is all about.

I think that allows you to create a renewed level of energy and confidence. You become more curious, a better collaborator, you become a little more bold with your thoughts, your leadership in terms of where you think things can go, maybe you stretch a little further, a little harder, but you also start doing other things that connect your purpose together.

Just having a level of control to be able to focus not only professionally, but by connecting that purpose to your personal life so that you’re not thinking in compartments. You’re really connecting all the things across all elements of your life.

I 100% agree with Melyssa, I think business and personal have become a bit merged. But being able to provide that connection really benefits not only the person, but the connection to your overall goals wherever you sit in the company. I think those are things to make sure of when you’re dealing with a lot of uncertainty. There are so many things that we can do in our everyday lives, but the success of that is really making sure that we are taking that time to create the mindfulness and success that we really want in our life.
