Today, we’re featuring an interview with Daniel Masci, the co-founder of Masci Group.

In the fast-paced world of business, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle. We face an unrelenting onslaught of distractions; social media, emails, messages, and urgent requests that demand our immediate attention. But what if we’re actually hindering our creativity and productivity by rushing through everything?

Mark and I are and always have been like a bull at a gate. We will just absolutely fly through things and if we have to work 18 hours, we will. If we have to get up at two in the morning and do stuff, we’ll do it.

But if you are flying like that all the time, you’re potentially making some wrong decisions. You’re making decisions on the fly, you’re not making the decisions from a creative space, you have to remember to slow down, take a break, go for a walk, sit back, do some meditation.

When we were rushing all the time, people would come in to see us or to ask us questions and we’d just try to go through it in a snap.

Because we just rushed through it they felt like we were just brushing them off. You have to slow down, give people the time that they need. What goes around comes around. So if we’re giving them fast, sharp answers, that’s how they’re going to be. If we slow down and have an open discussion, then so much creativity can come out.
At one point we literally cleared our desks off, we even went from three screens down to one. Turning it into a creative space. But it took me time, it’s not an overnight thing, especially for me.

The best resource, the best piece of magic and the best piece of awesomeness that I can give to any one thing or any one person is my time, quality time.

It’s important to carve out moments of stillness amidst the chaos so we could foster clear thinking and informed decision-making. We also need to create space for ourselves to relax, recharge, and nurture our well-being.

Embracing a slower pace may seem counterintuitive, but it’ll be worth it in the long run. By dedicating time to nurture your creativity, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve.

Thank you for the reminder Daniel. And if you’d like to hear more from him, then go ahead and watch the full video where we discuss even more in depth.
