Steve Napolitan: Welcome to More Business, More Life Daily. Today I want to talk about wow clients, actually, the whole next five videos and how important it is to do this to transcend your business to the next level. Let’s get into it.
Why wow clients? Many people ask me, “Well, first, what is a wow client?” A wow client is one that lifts you up, that is like almost magical. If you’ve ever had a client or a customer or someone that you’ve worked with and you were just so excited, that you knew it was meant to be that you work together and they were so excited, it’s just this amazing, magical thing. So often in business, we find ourselves working with people that maybe it’s just okay. I look at it this way. We have these wow clients that are just amazing. Then we have okay client, okay client, okay client. Then over here, we have the ow, the ow clients. You have kind of the wow and the ow.
So many of us, and I’ve done this too, we take on those ow clients because we think we have to, to earn money. Then what happens though is it becomes like a pollution or something wrong in our business. I guess I’ll have to say, side note, that just because it’s an ow client doesn’t mean they’re bad people. An ow client to us could be a wow client to someone else. It’s all about several things like personalities, just having the right fit. Is it the right project for us? Is it those right customers? Even buying a product, if you get ow clients buying your product, they’re going to be complaining and da, da, da. We’ll get into that in the next episodes, because I’ll give you some very specific things about how taking ow clients actually takes away from your business.
The first thing, let’s talk about energy. So often, we think that time is the most valuable thing, when I believe one of the most valuable things is energy. Because when you think about it, if you have all the time in the world and you don’t have energy, then what do we have? The time just goes by and we’re not actually enjoying life. Then to have the full vibration of life, we want our energy to be at a high. This can change. The amount of energy you have can change by how you eat, do you exercise, are you meditating, whatever it is to get yourself into a higher vibration of energy.
But one thing that we do know that we can say right now coming back to wow clients is when we work with wow clients, think about it, does your energy go up or down? It’s going to go up, because you’re actually feeding yourself. It’s kind of like talking on your phone while it’s charging. You’re lifting yourself up. This is huge because then what has happened with the ow clients, the ow are draining your energy while you’re working, and then you don’t even want to talk to them. It’s almost like if an ow client calls, you’re like, “Oh, I’ll call them back later. Let me turn my phone off.” Or if they’re on your agenda for the day, then you look at your calendar for the day and you’re like, oh my gosh, I have to meet with this person. Then it totally takes your breath away. It’s like, I don’t want to do that. It can be toxic to your employees. It can take the whole thing down.
Whereas with wow clients, you could go the extra mile, the extra five miles, you can go the distance. You can do more than ever, give them more than ever. Guess what? They’re having a better result. They’re having more of what they want. They’re going to be excited about it.
I’m going to break this down. One other thing for me, I remember the first client, it was a big deal. It was a multi six-figure client. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of dollars. I ended up firing them. I had warned them because it was so toxic. It was taking my whole company. The majority of our work hours were starting to devote to this client when we needed other clients.
You never want your business to be consumed by one client. If they go away, then the whole company collapses. Even a good rule, and even this isn’t the best, don’t have any one client be more than 20% of your business. At least if they go away, then you still have 80% of your business.
But ultimately, I had to let them go. I knew it would liven up my business. Even if I had to go get three or four or five clients to replace that one client, then it would be better. That’s exactly what we did. It was so refreshing. It was a beautiful thing.
Now, I’m going to get deeper in this in the next episode because I really want these episodes to be three to five minutes. But I just wanted to get into your mind about wow clients. Then in the days to come, I’m going to teach how you can actually do more with this and break it down because you might be thinking now, “Okay, great, Steve. It would be magical to only work with wow clients, but I have to run my business, I have to create income. If I do that, I’m going to have less income.” Well, that’s a belief and I’m going to structurally, over the next four days, after today, teach you how I’ve been able to actually grow business and actually have more revenue than ever before by only focusing on wow clients. We’ll break that down. This just gets you the idea of wow clients. I hope that this was helpful. I hope that you start thinking about who your wow clients are and who you really love to work with. Then, tomorrow, I’ll be releasing more information and we’ll just keep digging deeper all around wow clients.
I hope you got value from this video today, and please let me know what you liked about it. Please subscribe if you really liked the videos that we’re putting out. Then let me know how I can best help you moving forward because we will take your feedback to start creating other episodes to help you more. Until next time, remember, choose gratitude and create freedom.
