Steve Napolitan: Entrepreneurship is largely seen as a money-motivated endeavor. But in the process of seeking money or prestigious positions, it’s easy to forget the REAL reason why we’re chasing those things. Today, I’ll share my magic question for igniting authentic motivation….”what will having that money or accomplishment do for me?” Money is just a unit of choice. Get in touch with what your heart REALLY wants and let THAT motivate you. It’s the first step to designing your business around your life!

I want to say first off it actually makes me sad. It makes me sad when people are working to make money and then their genius, the thing that they’re put on this planet to do, is sitting in the back. It’s sitting on the corner. And maybe some of us are working on it as a hobby. It’s happening on the weekends, happening in between the cracks, and sometimes it’s not happening at all. Sometimes maybe it was happening on the side, maybe it was our hobby, but then we get so caught up in what we’re doing to have the life that we think we need to have. We get caught up with the job, we get caught up with the money, and then these things start to not work out the way that way we wanted.

And slowly but surely year, after year, after year we get farther and farther away from what are our dreams were, and sometimes we even forget. I can’t tell you how many people that I meet that … And it doesn’t happen late. I mean, it could be in the 30s, 40s. I meet people in their 30s and they’re like, “It’s too late. I waited too long.” 40s, “I waited too long.” 50s, “I waited too long.” Do you know how many people didn’t make it until later in life? I mean, there’s so many. Just look it up. You can even Google people that had their success later in life, or after their 50s. You get wiser. You have so many more things going. So first up, no matter where you are in your life it’s never too late, you can make decisions, and no matter how young you are go for your dream.

Now let’s go back to what we’re talking about here. Whatever you are really passionate about, whatever your heart is driving for, that’s something important to listen to. That’s your whole body telling you what you’re meant to do. And when you deny that life gets hard. You’re going to not have as much fun making money. You’re going to be working really hard to do something, and then if you can try to keep your hobby going, that thing that’s passionate in your heart, you’re going to be doubling up. You’re going to have two jobs and you’re going to have these things going. What I want to encourage you to do, and we’re not going to have all the answers on this video, but I want to encourage you to start finding a way to do that, and that goes from many of the videos I’ve already put out here and I’m going to continue to put out. How do you find your way? Like if you started down your dream path and then you got hit by roadblocks or different things that doesn’t mean that you weren’t supposed to go there.

I talk about not going for the pain, not driving through what’s not working, but that doesn’t mean stop your dreams. I want you to go for your goal. I want you to keep going, but I want you to be willing to change the road that gets you there. Many times the road that we start out with to do our dream doesn’t work out, and then we think, “Oh, I guess I’m not meant to do that. I better just go get a job and make money.” And the reality is it’s just that pathway was not the right pathway. There’s many paths to get anywhere. So we have to find that other path. And when we can’t find that other path that’s when you seek out advice. That’s why many people come to me, and I help them, and I show them, “Hey, this is another way you can get there,” and they’re like “Oh my gosh.”

So I’ve helped artists. I’ve helped people that want to start their own business. I’ve helped people in their careers and they move and navigate to the right company, their dream company. Whatever it is for you, you can do it, so keep going and always ask yourself if there’s another way and then look for that way, but I really want you to bring front and center what you want. And if you didn’t watch yesterday’s episode, watch it, because it really goes towards getting to the depth of what our desire is so that we start manifesting, we start moving towards, we start working towards the thing that means the most to is. Let me know if you think, “Oh my gosh, Steve, I want to do this and there’s no way I can make enough money doing that.” I want you to tell me. Go ahead, bring that up, because I want you to stump me if you can. So far I haven’t. Everyone that’s come to me I’ve been able to help them start to navigate towards what they want and achieve those things. Not for everyone because you have to take action. There is a catch. I can point you in the right direction and I’m not even saying I have all the answers. If I don’t I’ll refer you to somebody else. I’ll do the best I can to give you the best advice that I can, but I’m definitely not saying I’m all knowing, but I will do everything I can, and then you have to take action. You have to be willing to go do something different in order to have the life that you want.

But that’s ultimately what this video is for, to choose your life now. Don’t wait for anything, anyone, or any amount of money. You want to be able to start going towards what your desire is because there’s a reason that you’re so passionate about it. It’s because you are meant to do that. That’s what this life was for.
