One of the things I missed the most after being paralyzed was playing my flutes.
Even after I gained movement back into my arms, hands and fingers, I still lacked the control of my lips to make a good enough seal on the flute to get enough air in through it.
I tried many times and just got the sound of my breath.
About after 5-months, I was finally able to get some sound out of my flute. It was tiring. At first, I got light-headed, because I was losing air that wasn’t getting into the flute.
About 6-months later, I was finally able to play for about 5-minutes and by the end of that month 10-minutes. Milestone success!
From there, I just kept practicing and day-by-day I’ve been able to play longer and better.
Grateful to be able to play it again. ❤️🙏❤️
