Complaining feels like you’re doing something about the problem. You’re not.
You bang your toe. Then you complain about the toothpaste. Then the traffic. And now you’re in a downward spiral before 9am. Your body reads all of it as a threat. Cortisol goes up. Sleep, digestion, healing — they get robbed of the energy they need. The whole time, it feels productive. But it’s not.
There’s a line between a critic and a creator. In this episode, we’ll walk through how to cross it, with one small move you can start today.
- The five-minute wallow. Set a timer. Write down everything you’re mad about. Then draw a line and ask one question: what am I going to do about this? That’s the moment you stop criticizing and start creating.
- Not every complaint is noise. Sometimes there’s a real hole in the boat. There’s a difference between a chronic complainer and a red flag worth acting on.
- Better questions. “I’m screwed” gets you nothing. “What can I do about this?” gets you moving. Small change. Big difference.
The worst moment of your day can become the best thing you create next. If you choose it.

Everyone's telling you to deploy AI right now. Almost no one's asking why. Here's the thing. AI accelerates whatever you already have. Good systems get better. Broken systems break faster. So if your processes are a mess and your strategy is fuzzy, AI won't hide that. It'll put it on a billboard. Which means the work isn't the tool. The work is knowing your business first.
