Meet our guest: Becky Parker Geist
Becky Parker Geist is the founder and CEO of Pro Audio Voices Inc, serving clients internationally as a go-to place for exceptional audiobook production and marketing, including complex and unusual projects that may involve multiple voices and/or music and/or sound effects.
Typically Becky works with authors and small publishers who are passionate about getting their content out there to their audiences around the world, but are challenged in reaching their widest audience. Through audiobook production and marketing, Becky and her team help authors have a greater impact in the world. They help great stories come alive! Every time a great story comes alive, doors open – in the heart, in the mind, in the spirit. With each great story brought to life and each door that opens, positive change becomes possible, and the world changes – one story at a time.
After receiving her M.F.A. in Acting in 1981, Becky began narrating Talking Books for the Blind through the Library of Congress, narrating over 70 titles in two years, and quickly became one of their most popular narrators. As a professional stage actress, she has toured internationally, as well as on the east and west U.S. coasts. Becky brings her broad range of theatre skills – acting, directing, producing, marketing – to bear in all her voiceover and production work. Becky performs under the name Becky Parker.
Committed to leadership and building strong, long-term relationships, Becky serves as President of BAIPA (Bay Area Independent Publishers Association) and a chapter leader of NonFiction Authors Association. She is a member of IBPA (Independent Book Publishers Assn) and APA (Audio Publishers Assn). She presents frequently on the subject of audiobook production, and is author of Audiobook Toolkit for Authors: Your Comprehensive Guide to Recording Your Own Audiobook, available at www.authortoolkits.com, as well as 2 other nonfiction and 2 children’s books.
