Taking a nap waiting for the ambulance to take me home.
Getting ready to leave the hospital took a lot of energy. Still far from my normal self.
After getting half way changed into street clothes, I had to take a nap, while I waited for the ambulance to take me home.
Taking lots of breaks has been a big part of my life over the last 5-10 years. Before that I worked till I couldn’t.
Now I am on extreme break mode. The recovery from this has been exhausting. Doing the simplest things are big workouts.
Taking lots of breaks allows me to recover quicker. Sounds like an oxymoron, yet it’s real.
Where can you squeeze in more breaks?
It is amazing what a 5-10 minute nap or walk can do for your energy level and mental capacity.
Take more breaks. Try it.
I made it home. I’m in a wheelchair and had to rent a hospital bed for my house.
Plus I got a seat for my shower and other tools to help assist and make things easier as I continue my healing.
(My awesome wife wrangled all I needed.)
You cannot tell by this picture, yet I am happy.
Happy, grateful and filled with joy to be home with my family.
Healing is easier when you are in your own comfortable place and with amazing, supportive people.
At the hospital there were also amazing people that helped me.
It’s just not the same as being home with your family.
Grateful.
